SORGEP is a hybrid (online and in-person) mentoring program that aims to build effective and sustainable one-to-one bonds between university students (Mentors) and children in the 10-year-old age group. The program focuses on responsibility, values, and social adaptation through a continuous follow-up system. It also seeks to strengthen personal responsibility, empathy, and life-management competencies.
Within this framework, mentors gain professional skills such as communication, leadership, and time management through structured modules, while applying these skills in real mentoring relationships. Children in the 10-year-old age group improve confidence, empathy, and social skills; the trust-based mentor relationship provides emotional support, increases learning motivation, and helps them build a stronger future pathway.
Mentor candidates are selected through application and interview stages. Then each mentor is assigned up to four students. Matching is completed carefully by an expert team according to age, interest areas, and regional compatibility criteria.
Professional training delivered by our expert team is organized into modules spanning three years.
SORGEP’s activity plan is designed according to children’s developmental stages. Weekly in-person or online meetings are organized between mentors and children. These meetings support social skill development and provide a safe communication environment.
Workshops and activities help children discover interests and improve talents. In addition to sports, arts, and handicraft activities, visits to institutions such as governorships, municipalities, factories, and nursing homes increase social awareness and strengthen responsibility.
Digital resources, including a virtual library and online workshops, make access to information easier and support learning processes. In this way, children continue individual development while strengthening social and emotional skills through mentoring relationships.
Mentors are responsible for planning and reporting assigned activities. The Project Coordinator collects weekly and monthly reports from each mentor. Families are invited to regular information meetings throughout the process, and all data is protected in line with privacy policies.
